Maybe* and Local Rewards have made headlines throughout 2021 and we could not be more thrilled with the support we've received for Maybe* in the press. Local press has rallied to announce the support we've partnered with BIDs and local authorities to provide to independent businesses. Meanwhile national and industry press has showcased Maybe* data and the insight it offers into the future of retail, the importance of social media and consumer trends. Here's a round up of what the press pack has had to say.
Maybe* in the press round up for 2021
Retail and industry trends
At the beginning of the year Maybe* research was featured in the Retail Times, 365Retail and Industry.Fashion. The pieces shone a light on how consumers in the UK were feeling about government support for businesses during lockdown and the pandemic.
At the beginning of Q2 we partnered with Retail Week (paywall) to demonstrate what social media was showing us about how the best retailers engaged their customers.
Retail Jeweller used Maybe* data to show how the best jewellery brands sparkle and shine on social media and Toy News published our top tips for toy brands looking to engage parents and kids in the run up to Christmas.
Supporting SMEs and inspiring indies
The story of Cheltenham based shoe retailer Keith Scarrott also helped Maybe* score a mention in Business Live in March 2021. The story showed just how Maybe* could support independent retailers to succeed despite lockdown and became one of our case studies to inspire more independents.
We partnered with Independents Day in July and support for the initiative and our involvement earned coverage in the Retail Times, SME Business News, Better Retailing, CWB Online, Asian Trader and Bike Biz.
Retail Times also reported the digital skills gap and the blockers indies face to taking up social media with commentary from Maybe* CEO, Polly Barnfield OBE who also lent her voice to the Retail Gazette.
Local Rewards in the local press
Local Rewards High Street Guides are being adopted by businesses and up and down the country. In 2021 Warwickshire, Brentwood, Selby, Bristol, Kent, the Cotswolds, Torbay, West Lindsay, Rhyl and St Helens went live with Local Rewards among many others. Coverage from across the regions featured Maybe* in the press to add to our growing list of press pack praise.
Meanwhile Local Gov and Shropshire's press announced government contract wins for Maybe*.
2021 has been challenging for many but we are proud to be supporting local businesses and the retail industry move forwards. Keep an eye out for Maybe* in the press in 2022!
