Instagram sharing gets simpler in the latest social media news

Instagram sharing looks set to get a whole lot easier as Instagram tests sharing functionality from Stories. The app is also rethinking its approach to adding links to content and making the move away from an image first, to a video first platform.

Instagram tests link sticker in Stories

Instagram has always limited sharing links in Stories to accounts with 10k followers or more, however this feature could be available to all soon. These stickers will operate the same way a swipe-up link does, except with a tap instead of a swipe.

Sharing looks set to get a bit easier on Instagram. “We know that people sometimes find reshared content less engaging, personal, and fun,” an Instagram spokesperson said of the test. “We hope that with this new test experience, people are encouraged to be more intentional and deliberate when sharing things that matter to them.”
