Mark Zuckerburg announced at Facebook’s annual AR/VR conference last week the name change of their holding company to Meta. Meta will encompass Facebook, as well as apps such as Instagram, WhatsApp and the virtual reality brand Oculus. Zuckerburg laid out plans to build a digital world that will be the successor of the mobile internet, calling it the ‘metaverse’.

Instagram makes links available to ALL accounts
Instagram has announced that links are now being made available in Instagram Stories for all users, not just those with 10k followers or verified accounts. Will this put more emphasis on Stories for brands? We’d say so.

Twitter launches Spaces recording
Twitter has launched Spaces recording to selected hosts. Hosts will be able to download the audio of their Space, which they can then edit as a podcast, or as audio clips to help promote upcoming shows. Read more here.
