Facebook tackles misinformation with new alerts and penalties

In a further bid to increase awareness and reduce the spread of misinformation via its apps, Facebook has introduced new information alerts and increased individual user penalties. Those distributing content flagged as false by Facebook’s fact-checking teams could get slapped with a fine. New Drops on Instagram shops

Only in the US for now (but we’re sure it won’t be long before it rolls out to the rest of the world); Instagram has launched a new feature to its shopping section called Drops. A newer e-commerce trend, Drops aims to help sellers create buzz for forthcoming products in the days and weeks leading up to their availability. For retailers already using Instagram’s eCommerce tools, you’ll need to use the ‘Product Launch’ feature over in Facebook’s commerce manager, and you should be able to access stickers and reminders about your new products to share over Reels and Stories to get a bit of buzz going with your followers.
