Become a TikTok pro with TikTok Tutorials. A new site full of video tutorials designed to help users get familiar with the features and info needed to master the app.

Instagram introduces new authenticity measures

Instagram wants the content you see to be authentic and come from real people, not bots, so they have introduced new authenticity measures. 

To do this they will be asking people to confirm who is behind an account when they see a pattern of potential inauthentic behaviour.

If an account holder chooses not to confirm their information, it may be disabled.

Snapchat adds lenses inspired by TikTok

Snapchat knows that people post video with its augmented reality lenses to multiple platforms. So, it has launched lenses specifically for TikTok. 

A new selection of AR Lenses have been built in collaboration with popular TikTok influencers to encourage users to participate in TikTok dance challenges via Snap's tools.

Facebook launches support for paid online events

Businesses will now be able to monetise online events on Facebook, thanks to a new feature.

Originally it was designed for in-person events, but with the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting social distancing orders, the company “really quickly pivoted” to supporting online events.

The aim is to give business owners the ability to create, promote, collect payment and host events all from one place.

Facebook begins merging Instagram and Messenger chats

Facebook has made clear its plans to unify the messaging platforms of its hugely popular apps to allow cross-messaging among Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. 

It appears that integration between the chat systems for Instagram and Messenger may already be underway, with users noticing an update screen pop up in Instagram with the message “There’s a New Way to Message on Instagram”.
