How Positively Putney is bringing the Local Rewards Christmas Trail to life

Attracting Christmas shoppers without the usual festive attractions is proving a challenge for some towns, but not in Putney where Positively Putney has launched the Local Rewards Christmas Trail to encourage local shoppers to enjoy Christmas shopping safely.

Here at Maybe* we've  made a ready-to-launch Christmas Trail which can be deployed online or offline with ease and speed. The trail is a great alternative to the grottos and Christmas markets that normally attracts the crowds this time of year.

You can use the campaign out of the box by simply downloading the posters and popping them up about town, or downloading digital assets to run on social media. Or you can take things one step further by localising and personalising the campaign like Putney has done.

Let's take a look at how Positively Putney is bringing Local Rewards to South West London with a little help from Elmer the Elephant. It's a great campaign that has been delivered in partnership with Andersen Press.

Each QR code links a shopper to a virtual High Street Guide. These Guides are available for every High Street in the UK and update based on data from Google Maps, Instagram and Maybe*.  See what's available in Putney today.

We have been trialling the Local Rewards in Putney and found that local businesses like the way it encourages customers to explore their neighbourhood. It showcases to customers what shopping local is all about and gives people the online discovery of their local town centre in one easy to use directory.” Nicola Grant, Executive Director Putney BID.

Introducing the Putney Christmas Trail

Positively Putney downloaded the Maybe* Local Rewards Christmas Trail and has added their own elephant-shaped twist to it.

Elmer the patchwork elephant has been placed all around Putney. Instead of collecting Christmas letters to solve the conundrum, Positively Putney is entertaining the little ones by enlisting them to keep an eye out for Elmer. Meanwhile Mum or Dad can scan the Local Rewards QR code and collect the points, as well as access the Shop Local Guide for Putney.

The Shop Local Guide for Putney is loaded with offers from local businesses, as well as inspirational Instagram content from local retailers. All designed to help shoppers explore and enjoy Putney safely this Christmas.

A free QR code poster trail for every UK High Street

Follow Putney's example and climb aboard the Christmas campaign trail.

Maybe* is helping High Streets by providing a free QR code poster trail for every UK High Street, encouraging shoppers to explore safely and giving them a chance to win £500 to spend on their local High Street. You have posters and social media posts ready to go along with a  pre-populated virtual Guide of your town.

After what has been the worst year on record for many retailers, the remaining shopping days until Christmas are critical to bolster sales.

You can use the assets we have provided, or edit and tailor them to add your own branding and creative. We've made it easy for you to launch the campaign whichever way you choose.

Each scan on the poster reveals a letter and a live personal Shopping Guide for every shopper on every UK High Street

Once the shopper scans the QR code they are also presented with a way to discover your town. This is ready and live now for EVERY TOWN in the country.
