A new virtual Local Rewards High Street Guide launches in Brentwood this weekend offering shoppers special offers from local businesses that will earn loyalty points.
Brentwood Borough Council is the first borough in the county to run the virtual Local Rewards High Street Guide which starts on Saturday July 17 in conjunction with the Safari Trail.
Residents can scan a special QR code at each of the giant animal figures which allows them to collect free Local Rewards. These reward points can then be used to claim special offers, giveaways, discounts and free gifts in participating shops.
Every high street business in Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone is invited to sign up and manage their High Street Guide listing and add their Local Rewards for shoppers. The Local Rewards High Street Guides have been created by Maybe*, a social media management platform that helps businesses use social media to sell.
CEO of Maybe*, the tech company that has developed the High Street Guides, Polly Barnfield OBE said; “Our research revealed that 66 per cent of shoppers look online for inspiration. The High Street Guides encourage people to browse their local high street and be rewarded for their local spend.
“Our aim is to enable shoppers to have a better shopping experience, discover businesses that may not have known before and provide businesses with the tools to reward for their High Street spend.
“We are delighted that Brentwood has taken the innovative step to support businesses in this way by being the first area in Essex to offer the scheme.”
